How To Make Keto Cheese Chips
Making these low-carb cheese crisps is incredibly easy. Follow these simple steps:
- Preheat your oven to 190°C/375°F.
- Cut the cheese slices into quarters and arrange them on a lined baking sheet. Ensure they have enough space as they will spread during baking.
- (Optional) Sprinkle the cheese slices with your favorite seasoning. We recommend paprika for a hint of smokiness, but you can use garlic powder, onion powder, or any other seasoning you like.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 5 minutes, or until the cheese chips are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the cheese chips cool on a paper towel for 2 minutes to absorb any excess oil.
- Enjoy your homemade cheese crisps on their own or with your favorite dip.
Not only are these low-carb cheese chips easy to make, but they’re also about twenty times cheaper than buying packaged cheese chips equivalent.

Tips for the Best Keto Cheese Chips
- Even Cooking: For evenly cooked cheese crisps, ensure your oven is properly preheated and your cheese slices are similar in size.
- Preventing Burning: Your cheese chips can burn quickly if you don’t watch them closely while they bake. If you notice the edges browning too quickly, remove them from the oven sooner.
- Storage: Store leftover keto cheese chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
Serving Suggestions

They did not work for me, and I don’t know why. They just came out gummy and hard. What did I do wrong?
Hi Marsha,
It sounds like you might have used processed cheese slices – they do not bake well at all!
Bump it up a notch – lay on a thin slice of raw jalapeno or other pepper and sprinkle with bacon bits before baking.
Sounds delicious Chuck!
Hi Gerri
What Australian cheese do you find best to use making these?
I have found some brands just turn out rubbery and not crispy.
Hi Chris,
I love sharp, mature cheddar – the more “real” the cheese, the better the chips will turn out. Avoid the processed (plastic) cheese and stick to the sliced mature tasty and cheddars – there are only about 3 brands in our Aussie supermarkets and they are all pretty great. I hope that helps!
Thank you so much! They are very tasty! Is there a limit in Keto as to how many you can have per day?

Glad you like them, I like them too. Yes, there’s a limit depending on what you’re trying to achieve, follow the nutritional data in the recipe and check them against your macro allowances.
You can use our Macro Calculator to work that out if you like. The good news is they’re just about zero carbs.
