This recipe is the first of many compound butter recipes that we have prepared to share with you in the coming weeks. Adding a little extra fat and flavor can turn a dull meal into something that is a little more exciting.

The combination of Bacon and Parmesan cheese is just too good to pass over! We’ve combined these two delicious ingredients in our Cheese and Bacon Cauliflower Casserole and our Broccoli & Bacon Croquettes and we’ll definitely be using them in more recipes.

This recipe makes 20 serves, each serving is 1 tablespoon of compound butter.

Bacon & Parmesan Compound Butter Ingredients

  • 4 ounces (4 slices) of Bacon
  • 2 sticks (8 ounces) of Butter, unsalted and softened
  • ¼ cup of Parmesan Cheese, shredded
  • ½ teaspoon of Pepper
  • Salt, to taste

How to make Bacon & Parmesan Flavored Compound Butter

  1. In a large non-stick frying pan, fry the bacon until it is crispy. Allow to cool.
  2. Add the bacon to your food processor and blend on high speed until it resembled large crumbs.
  3. Add the remaining ingredients to the food processor and blend on medium speed until all ingredients are combined.
  4. Spoon the butter onto a sheet of cling film and gently roll into a log shape. Store in the fridge or freezer.
