Everyone has a different method of cooking hard boil eggs – whether you use an instant pot, stovetop, or steamer these eggs come out perfect every time.

These methods will work for just about any amount of eggs – though I would suggest keeping to a maximum of 12 if you are cooking them in your instant pot.

This method is how to hard boil eggs, if you want a softer center back it off by 1/4 of the time for each method. This hard boil eggs recipe makes 6 serves. 1 serving is 1 egg.

How to Boil Eggs In An Instant Pot

  1. Place the steamer basket into your Instant Pot. Add 1 cup of water, and the eggs.
  2. Put on the lid and set to High Pressure for 6 minutes.
  3. Use the Quick Release method, remove the lid and place the eggs into iced water to cool before removing the shell.

How to Make Boiled Eggs On The Stove Top

  1. Fill a saucepan with hot water from the tap and add the eggs, ensuring that the eggs are completely covered.
  2. Place over high heat, once small bubbles start to appear, set your timer for 12 minutes.
  3. Once cooked, place the eggs into iced water to cool before removing the shells.

How to Make Boil Eggs in a Steamer

  1. Set up your steamer according to the manufacturer’s directions.
  2. Place the eggs into the steamer basket and steam for 14 minutes.
  3. Remove and place the eggs into iced water to cool before removing the shell.
