This keto chicken spinach curry, also known as Indian Saag, is a creamy flavorsome Indian dish that is a classic take-out dish for lunch or dinner.
Saag is a delicious North Indian dish. We’ve dropped the carbs and made our own Keto Chicken Saag Curry.
We’ve kept this delicious Indian Saag dish very mild. Add 1-2 teaspoons of chili powder in step two if you prefer a hot curry.
This recipe makes six servings. One serving is one cup which has 4g net carbs.
Keto Chicken Spinach Curry Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons of Ghee
- 3 cloves of Garlic, finely chopped
- 2 in of Ginger, grated
- 2 teaspoons of Cumin Seeds
- 1 teaspoon of Turmeric, ground
- 2 teaspoons of Garam Masala, ground
- 1 teaspoon of Salt
- 2 pounds of Chicken Thighs, diced
- 2 medium Tomatoes, diced
- 1 pound of Frozen Spinach broken into small chunks
- 1 cup of Heavy Cream
How to make Keto Chicken Spinach Curry
- Place a large saucepan over high heat. Add the ghee, garlic, ginger, and cumin seeds. Saute for 5-8 minutes until the onion starts turning translucent.
- Add the turmeric, garam masala, and salt and saute for 3 minutes.
- Add the chicken thighs and stir well to coat the spices. Saute the chicken until it is browned.
- Add the diced tomatoes and frozen spinach and mix through. Leave to cook for 5 minutes before adding the cream.
- Reduce the heat to a simmer. Simmer uncovered for 20-25 minutes until the chicken is cooked and the sauce thickens.
- Serve immediately with a side of Cauliflower Rice.
