This keto chicken spinach curry, also known as Indian Saag, is a creamy flavorsome Indian dish that is a classic take-out dish for lunch or dinner.

Chicken and Spinach Saag Curry. This easy Indian curry recipe is loaded with spinach and spices. It’s a healthy low-carb curry, perfect for dinner or lunch.

Saag is a delicious North Indian dish. We’ve dropped the carbs and made our own Keto Chicken Saag Curry.

We’ve kept this delicious Indian Saag dish very mild. Add 1-2 teaspoons of chili powder in step two if you prefer a hot curry.

This recipe makes six servings. One serving is one cup which has 4g net carbs.

  • 3 tablespoons of Ghee
  • 3 cloves of Garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 in of Ginger, grated
  • 2 teaspoons of Cumin Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of Turmeric, ground
  • 2 teaspoons of Garam Masala, ground
  • 1 teaspoon of Salt
  • 2 pounds of Chicken Thighs, diced
  • 2 medium Tomatoes, diced
  • 1 pound of Frozen Spinach broken into small chunks
  • 1 cup of Heavy Cream

How to make Indian Chicken Saag Curry
  1. Place a large saucepan over high heat. Add the ghee, garlic, ginger, and cumin seeds. Saute for 5-8 minutes until the onion starts turning translucent.
  2. Add the turmeric, garam masala, and salt and saute for 3 minutes.
  3. Add the chicken thighs and stir well to coat the spices. Saute the chicken until it is browned.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes and frozen spinach and mix through. Leave to cook for 5 minutes before adding the cream.
  5. Reduce the heat to a simmer. Simmer uncovered for 20-25 minutes until the chicken is cooked and the sauce thickens.
  6. Serve immediately with a side of Cauliflower Rice.
