There’s nothing worse than assuming that your jar of store-bought walnut butter is purely ground nuts. Most often nut butters on the shelf are full of additives, preservatives, and sugars.
Using a good food processor is essential when making your own walnut butter recipe.
Walnut butter can be made with cheaper food processors but you should take your time and pulse blend so as not to burn out the motor.
It is well worth spending a little extra cash on good quality appliances.
Ingredients for Walnut Butter:
- 14 ounces of Raw Walnuts
- 1 pinch of Salt
How To Make Walnut Butter
- Place walnuts and salt into your food processor and blend on medium to high speed until the walnuts breakdown. It can take 15 to 20 minutes of blending for the walnuts to release their oils and turn into a smooth butter. Ensure you stop your food processor if it begins to heat up, to avoid burning out the motor.
- Use your walnut butter to make our Snickerdoodle Cookies or store in an airtight container.

We use this walnut butter recipe mostly as an ingredient to cookie recipes. We do need Omega-6’s. But too many walnuts can be detrimental as high Omega-6 is inflammatory and counters Omega-3’s. Eat Walnuts but do not eat them all day.
